In January, 2006, Marilyn Murdoch opened Guestroom, a new concept in exhibiting art. Guestroom features selections of work as seen through the eyes of some of the city's most important and well-known artists, collectors, curators and galleries. As the name implies, the art space is an inviting presentation of constantly revolving exhibits chosen by guest curators.
An avid art collector with a penchant for helping new art buyers to build intelligent art collections, Marilyn also launched Murdoch Collections to give collectors an alternative to auctions in selling their art, thereby honoring the artists, the collector and the buyer. The space housing both galleries, at 4114 North Vancouver provides 3,400 square feet in a beautiful historic building with an envious amount of parking.
